On Sunday June 9th my roommates and I headed out
to Camden Markets. I was really excited because of the rave reviews I had read
from many of the London fashion bloggers I follow. I originally thought the
market was just one huge place, but I found out it is a bunch of different markets
in Camden Town. Camden Markets consist
of Camden Stables Market, Camden Lock Market, Camden Lock Village, Camden
Market, Main Streets, and Inverness Street.
Sunday seemed to be quite windy and chilly but I braved it
to explore the many markets. Once exiting the tube you are on the main street
which offers stores such as Vans and American Apparel. If you walk a little
further down you come across Camden Market which offers all types of clothing
and accessories. This market even has knocked-off product of brands such as Obey,
Boy London, and Beats by Dre. Further
down you enter the Camden Lock Market which houses so many different stands selling
so much different stuff; also this is where the food section is. Upon
discovering the food I was in heaven, there were food stands offering food from
every corner of the world including Texas BBQ. I have a cousin who would love the
food markets. Camden Lock Market is also
where the stables market is which housed a small cute little café with a book
section attached. The Stables Market is actually really old stables that were
converted into many different markets.
Leaving Camden Town I found a place that was part of my
personality and one of my favorites place in London so far. I loved it so much
I returned back the next day with my roommate Coral and our teaching assistant
Quita. This trip I tried one of the many Chinese food markets they had and it
was amazing. Don’t worry I have a special post for all of the food I have had
in London since being here. I plan to travel back to the markets a few more
times before my departure back to the states.
Some of the stores have these huge figures on them.
